BioGRAphy
Jill Johnson has lived in Honolulu, HI, since 2004 with her husband and daughter. She received a Bachelors of Fine Arts (BFA) from Miami University of Oxford, OH in 2000, and a Master of Arts in Art Education (MAAE) from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 2004.
While in Chicago, Jill conducted her own independent photography business while interning for Artists; Sandro Miller, David Plowden, Alan Cohen, Steven Gross, and Judith Bromley.
Concurrently with graduate school she was a teaching assistant in a grade 1-3 classroom at Chiaravalle Montessori School in Evanston, Il. She conducted action research and composed her Masters Thesis: Seriously Funny Comics: Montessori Elementary Students Analyze Popular Comics to Inform the Making and Publication of Autobiographic Narratives
She is a full-time teacher at Mid-Pacific Institute in Honolulu, HI, acting as program director for the Elementary grades. She also teaches the Fundamentals of Digital and Visual Arts (FDVA) courses of High School Summer sessions.
